Founder of OYEN Emotional Wellness Center Launches Cuidate Oregon, a New Nonprofit Dedicated to Family Health and Wellness

SALEM, Ore. — October 2025 — Melinda Ávila, community leader and wellness advocate, founder and president of OYEN Emotional Wellness Center, announced the creation of Cuidate Oregon, a new nonprofit organization focused on expanding access to emotional, behavioral, and family health services across the state.

Building on the success of OYEN Emotional Wellness Center, which has provided culturally responsive mental health support to diverse communities, Cuidate Oregon was created to strengthen services at the community level, particularly for families with young children.

As its first initiative, Cuidate Oregon will soon launch the Early Childhood Health & Wellness Program (0–5), an effort designed to support the health and wellness of families with children from birth to age five. The program is being developed in collaboration with trusted partners:

  • Farmworker Housing Development Corporation

  • Faces of America

  • Salem Keizer Coalition for Equality

  • Woodburn School District

“Cuidate Oregon represents the next step in our mission to build healthier futures for our communities,” said Melinda Ávila, Founder and President. “By focusing on families with young children, and working hand-in-hand with our partners, we are creating the foundation for lasting wellbeing in Oregon.”
